President 2017

Service Year
2017 to 2018

For over 23 years, the North Fresno Rotary club has been a source of friendship, enlightenment, and inspiration to me.  Founded in 1948, and with nearly 100 members today, the club has introduced me to a vast array of professionals.  Weekly, we meet for lunch and speaker programs which spawn thoughtful conversations, challenging projects, and hearty laughter.

Rod Gibson joined North Fresno Rotary in Mar 2003 shortly after moving to Fresno in 2002. Previously he was a rotarian in the Missoula Sunrise Rotary Club in Missoula Montana. Rod was raised in Omaha Nebraska and served 27 years in the United States Air Force after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1974.

He was a command pilot with over 2000 hours in the B52, FB-111 and T-3A aircraft. After the Air Force and arriving in Fresno he had a 2nd career a Financial Adviser with AG Edwards that then became Wells Fargo Advisers in 2009. He retired from Wells Fargo in Oct 2015.

While in Rotary he previous positions in Rotary include Director of Club Service and Chairman of the North Fresno Endowment Fund. He has been married to Alice Gibson for the past 38 years and they have two children and two grandchildren. He truly believes Rotary offers him a way to serve his local community and the world in addition to his church involvement.
