About Mike Firpo

Mike Firpo First Tee

Mike Firpo of First Tee Fresno

Mike is a Fresno County native and has been a Golf Professional since 1993. Mike was a member of the Golden State and Texas Mini-Tours from 1993 through 1995. He was named Ping Club-Fitter of the Year in 1997, and in 2003 our local PGA chapter honored him for his work with junior golf. In 2000, Mike began teaching the game of golf on a full-time basis to people of all ages, but with a specialty in developing junior programs and curriculum suited for the youth of Central California. As head coach of the Bullard High School Boys’ Golf Team from 2003 - 2008, Mike worked hard to return integrity to his alma mater and in the process his teams won several Area Championships.
Mike was instrumental in bringing The First Tee to Central California because of his belief that junior golf, and its inherent values, was not being introduced to all children. As one of the founders of The First Tee of Fresno, Mike decided to leave his regular job and take over as the chapter’s Executive Director and he has been involved in literally every area of the organization’s operation since Day-1.

Mike is also a Rotarian; becoming a member of East Fresno Rotary on April 3, 2013.
